What is Air Sealing?

Air sealing is stopping uncontrolled air leakage through cracks and openings in your home. Air leaks can occur in various places such as windows, walls and doors. However, it can also be escaping in some not so obvious places like plumbing openings, electrical sockets, recessed light fixtures and crawl spaces.

The U.S. Department of Energy reports that, " up to 40% of the energy cost of heating and cooling a building is wasted by uncontrolled air leakage." Insulation works best when air is not circulating around it. By sealing off air leaks it will make your homes insulation more effective and energy efficient.

We can help determine your home homes uncontrolled air leakage through Performance Home Testing and offer an air sealing package designed for your homes needs.
